Obituary For James F. Joyce

August 17, 1935 - June 1, 2015

Joyce, James F. Age 79, on Monday, June 1, 2015, of Pleasant Hills, formerly of "The Bluff".

Beloved husband of 51 years to Patricia M. (Gryczuk) Joyce; loving father of Mary Beth Perko, Sharon Joyce, Martin (Leslie) Joyce and Jamie (Jarrod) O'Neill; proud grandfather of Shane, Colin, Bridget, Jacob, Samantha, Julianna, Ryan and Madelyn; son of the late Martin and Mary Joyce; brother of Mary McShea, Nora Murray, Martin R. Joyce, Ann Viess and the late Joseph, Walter, Margaret and Coleman; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jimmy was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Oakland. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Wednesday from 6-8 p.m and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Friday morning at 11:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at Noon. If desired, family suggests contributions to American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.

    I was so very sorry to read that your family lost a husband and father. You have so many wonderful memories that I hope will comfort you. Patty, I remember the day that you brought your dad to our house in West Mifflin. He was very much the same as when I knew him when he came to McIntyre to see my Dad.
