Age 74, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025. Beloved husband of 6 years to Margaretta "Peggy" Byers; loving father of Regina M. (Jim) Sulier, Rachel D. (Jeff) Liggett and Michael J. Byers; stepfather of Neil A. (Kristen Reiter) Yodnane and Melanie L. (Josh) Youstra; proud Papa of Maggie and Luke Sulier, Maxwell Liggett and Austin Youstra. Also survived by numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and many loving friends. Jim served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam on the James E. Kyes DD 787 and the Capodanno DE 1093. He was a member of the Veterans Breakfast Club. He was an avid dog lover in particular, Angel, who he received from Paws for Vets. Special thanks to the staff on the 12th C floor of Allegheny General Hospital for their excellent care. There will be no visitation. Interment with full military honors will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Anyone attending the interment please meet at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m. Arrangements handled by the John F.
