Obituary For James J. Murphy, Jr.

July 16, 1923 - September 6, 2014

Murphy, James J., Jr. Age 91, peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2014, of Whitehall.

Beloved husband of Virginia; father of Dennis (Beth) Murphy, Eleanor (John) Mosholder and Jennifer Murphy; grandfather of six; great-grandfather of five. Jim entered the U.S. Navy as an Apprentice Seaman and retired 28 years later as a Lt. Commander. There will be no visitation. Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 10 AM in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors. Friends are welcome to meet at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Thursday at 9 AM to follow in procession.
