Obituary For Janet Agnes (Hodil) Gorman

Age 85, loving mother and cherished grandmother, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 19, 2025, of Baldwin Borough.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her children Diane (Peter) Smerecky, Robert (Shelley) Gorman, and Debra (James) Bosiljevac, as well as her grandchildren Danielle (Christopher), Pete, Trevor, Bryce, Greta, James, Sydney, and Molly. She also leaves behind her brother Cortlandt (Janet) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her husband Patrick; her parents Cortlandt and Adeline Hodil; and her sister Linda Eaton. Janet was a devoted Girl Scout, a Red Hat Society member, and loved singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school at St Peter’s Church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 2-8 p.m. Closing prayers will be held at 7:45 p.m.
