Obituary For Janet Marie Nelson

July 20, 1938 - April 30, 2016

Nelson, Janet Marie on Saturday, April 30, 2016, of Baldwin Borough.

Beloved wife of 56 years to Robert E. Nelson; loving mother of Dallas (Maureen), Maria (Raymond) Jones, Vernon (Diana Lynn) and Robbie Nelson; cherished grandmother of Raymond (Kara) and Shawn Jones, Rebecca (Eric) Hawkins, Sarah and Jonathan Nelson; great-grandmother of Kaydan Thomas Jones; tenth child of the late Jacob and Emma Dietzen; sister of Joan Jackson, Mary Rogers, Clare McPaul and the late Clyde and Paul Dietzen, Geraldine Miller, Mildred Westerbeck, Ruth Whetsel and Elizabeth Machin. Also survived by her devoted niece, Janie Schmidlin, along with many other nieces and nephews. Janet was a devoted member of St. Albert the Great Church where she served as an Eucharistic Minister. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Monday, 2 - 8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
