Obituary For Jeannette E. Davis

September 22, 1921 - September 24, 2014

Davis, Jeannette E., age 93, peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 of Titusville, formerly of Pittsburgh. Wife of the late Robert E.; beloved mother of Martha Davis-Long and the late Rodger M. Davis; proud grandmother of Christopher R., Ian T., and James D. Long; great-grandmother of Liam J. Long. Also survived by cousins and friends. Jeannette graduated from the University of Pittsburgh where she was a pioneer member of the Heinz Chapel Choir. She also was a retired teacher from the Baldwin-Whitehall School District. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday from 12-4 and 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. Family suggests contributions to Alzheimer's Association - Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

    My sincere sympathy to Martha and family. Jeanette was a big part of our childhood growing up on Senior Drive and I will never forget her. My father sends his condolences too - he always visited her when he got back to Pittsburgh. He will be 93 this month and still remembers the fun times of our neighborhood. May her memories give you comfort and I know she will walk with you on your journey in life as you see her in the moments you have shared together. We will all remember -
