Age 83, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, of Franklin and North Braddock recently of Florida . Husband of the late Joyce Docherty; father of James Docherty and his sons Jacob, Justis (Morgan), Liam and Elias; William Andrew Docherty; Marianne (Jim) Lee and their children Amber (Matt) and James Lee; John Ruffner, Jr., and his children John Ruffner and the late Shirley Pila; Mark Ruffner; Debra Ruffner and her children Steven and Angela; the late Diane Dolinar survived by her children Christopher, Shawna and the late Catherine: the late Sherry Ruffner survived by her children Michael (Goldie), Chrystal and the late Joyce; the late Kimberly Tykarski and her children Justin and the late Jason; great grandfather of 24; great uncle of 5; son of the late Andrew and Annie (King) Docherty; brother of Anne Elizabeth (the late Nickolas H.) Johannes and the late Hugh (S. Marlene) Docherty; also survived by Hugh F. (Nancy) Docherty, Catherine (Tod) Schmidt, Andrew (Bridgette) Docherty, and Christine (Dave) May. John served proudly in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired after many years as a supervisor with PennDOT. Friends will be received at the John F.
