Age 83, on Monday, March 9, 2015 of Whitehall, formerly of Monroeville.

Son of the late John and Hilda Deemer; brother of Paul (Joan) and Regis (Marilyn) Deemer; beloved uncle to two nephews and two nieces and their families. Served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War and was a long-time member of the Eagle Post #1634 of Verona and the American Legion Post #7824 of Plum Boro. The family wishes to express thanks to the staff at Overlook Green Assisted Living Facility and Three Rivers Hospice for their compassion and kindness to John while he was under their care. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh PA 15227 on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:30 a.m.
