Obituary For John "Jack" Schad

Age 83, on Friday, July 18, 2025, of Brookline.

Son of the late Gerard and Mary Schad; beloved husband of Mary Lou Schad. Also survived by many loving cousins. Jack proudly worked for Brooks Brothers from 1968 until his retirement in 2013, where he made countless lifelong friendships. There will be no public visitation, a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 in Church of the Resurrection, Saint Teresa of Kolkata Parish at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. If desired, family suggests contributions to Brookline Christian Food Pantry, 1036 Brookline Boulevard, Pittsburgh PA 15226 or St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish, 1810 Belasco Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216.

    My wife and I remember Jack after we first moved into the neighborhood, especially sharing a bus ride into town. We also have fond memories of seeing Jack at Ressi for Mass and sharing our faith with him in the celebration. He will be greatly missed.
