Cal
Was a good friend of mine growing up. I remember his dad taking us down to the river behind the Heinz factory to fish. I was always amazed how smart he was. RIP my friend!

Cal was a good friend of mine for many years: at St. Sylvesterâ??s Grade School, Brentwood High School and at Pitt. Here are some memories of our friendship:
1) We used to make movies with my movie camera doing magic tricks â?? making things appear and disappear. ~ age 12â??13
2) We pulled a prank on Mrs. Qualters (my homeroom teacher) in 8th grade. We cut the middle of pages out of a book and put a plastic bag with oregano in the cavity. We passed the book back and forth in class until Mrs. Qualters â??caughtâ?? us. I took the book to her and when she opened it, she nearly died â?? we hurriedly told her it was oregano â?? she was thinking her little babies were on drugs!!! ~ age 14
3) We used to box in Calâ??s driveway. His dad used to supervise. I remember that Cal called his dad â??Ed.â?? Tommy Pacini could hit really hard, Cal had some boxing skills and I just ran away. ~age 14-15
4) Senoir Dress-Up Day. We dressed up like KISS. Cal was Paul Stanley, I was Ace Frehley, Mark Saba was Peter Criss and Tom Wilbert was Gene Simmons. We skipped the afternoon and road around Oakland. ~age ~18
5) At Pitt, Cal and I were both in Engineering. We had to take a computer programming class in freshman year. Cal was really good at this. We had to write programs by using those punch cards that you would then feed into some type of card reader. I could never get my programs to work; and usually after 2 â?? 3 tries, I would just use Calâ??s cards with my ID cards in front. Cal found this really easy â?? he was a very smart guy. ~age 19
6) After I just got married, Cal and Mark Saba came out to our house in Bethel Park. We were drinking a bit and Cal played some tapes of some of the music that he was making in Berkeley, California. It was very Avant-garde. Well - all I remember after that was that someone ended up in one of our trees in the front yard (Mark?). ~age 24. That may have been the last time that I saw Cal â?? I canâ??t remember if he came to any of o
