May 28, 1935 - October 15, 2014

Provident, John "Jack" M., Jr.

Age 79, on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 of Baldwin. Beloved husband of 57 years to Mary Jane; loving father of John, III (Ingrid) Provident, Kristine (Vincent) Cassano and Jeff (Brenda) Provident; proud grandfather of Nicole and John, IV Provident, Larissa and Lauren Cassano and Hallie Provident; brother of Nancy (the late Pat) Duffy and the late Bob (Carol) Provident, Linda (survived by Jim) Smith; brother-in-law of Tom (Patti) Reese. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. John was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed his camp in Warren, PA, and will be remembered for his story-telling and quick wit. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday morning at 10:00.
