Age 99, of South Park, formerly of Mt. Oliver, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2022. Beloved husband of 71 years to the late Genevieve M. "Jean" (Nieder) DiGnazio; loving father of Frank (Kellie), Carol Kontul, John (Karen) and the late Harry (survived by Judy); loving grandfather (pap) of Lisa (Bryan), Jillian (Todd), Cory (Greg), Elle, Frank (Tracy), Nikki (Kolby), Philip (Leslie), Justin (Jessica), Christian (Jennifer), John (Dana) and Isabella (Matt); great-grandfather of 13; son of the late Matteo and Concetta (Montrasti) DiGnazio; brother of Rose (the late Bud) Leroch and the late Lena (Edward) Lapko, Edith (Norman) Reis, Anthony (Shirley) DiGnazio, Maria DiGnazio and Mary DiGnazio; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special friends JoAnne and Janet. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Monday, August 8, 2022, 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, Nativity Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
