Obituary For John N. DiGnazio

Age 99, of South Park, formerly of Mt. Oliver, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2022.

Beloved husband of 71 years to the late Genevieve M. "Jean" (Nieder) DiGnazio; loving father of Frank (Kellie), Carol Kontul, John (Karen) and the late Harry (survived by Judy); loving grandfather (pap) of Lisa (Bryan), Jillian (Todd), Cory (Greg), Elle, Frank (Tracy), Nikki (Kolby), Philip (Leslie), Justin (Jessica), Christian (Jennifer), John (Dana) and Isabella (Matt); great-grandfather of 13; son of the late Matteo and Concetta (Montrasti) DiGnazio; brother of Rose (the late Bud) Leroch and the late Lena (Edward) Lapko, Edith (Norman) Reis, Anthony (Shirley) DiGnazio, Maria DiGnazio and Mary DiGnazio; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special friends JoAnne and Janet. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Monday, August 8, 2022, 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, Nativity Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Nativity Church.
