English, John P. Age 89, on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, formerly of Allentown .

Husband of the late Vivian English; father of Marion (Jack) McGrath, Georgetta (Chuck) Harding and Michael (Alberta) McGuire; son of the late James and Elizabeth English; brother of Philip (Rosemary), Eleanor Citro, Nancy Drazdzinski and the late Thomas, James, Charles (Rosemarie), Margaret Radioanski, Betty and Virginia English; also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John served in the U.S. Army during WWII, retired from Allegheny County road crew as a foreman, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Pirate Fan. John's family would like to thank both the staff of Norbert's Personal Care and Seven Oaks Hospice for their wonderful care. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 8:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sylvester Church at 9:00 am.
