Martin, John R. "Jack", age 87, on Thursday, May 4, 2017 of Pleasant Hills, formerly of the West End. Son of the late John A. and Margaret (Ames) Martin; beloved nephew of the late Lois Manilla Ames; brother of Richard A. Martin; uncle of Ronald, Russell and Maureen Martin, Carolyn Deiley, Maryann (Mark) Zukowski and the late Richard A. Martin, Jr. Also survived by great nephews, a great niece and their families. Mr. Martin was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral service on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in the Temple of Memories Mausoleum, Allegheny Cemetery, with full military honors.
