Obituary For John Robert Fitzsimmons

Age 86, unexpectedly on Friday, August 8, 2025, of Bethel Park, formerly of Carnegie.

Beloved father of Diane (John) Lemanski and Donna Fitzsimmons; proud Pappy of Emily Jane Lemanski; son of the late John and Jane (Muenster) Fitzsimmons; brother of the late Marge (Bernard) Herron, Jean (Matthew "Blackie") Yurchak, Hugh "Bud" (Loretta) Fitzsimmons and Nancy (Jim) Deleuze; also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families. After a lengthy career with U.S. Steel, "Fitz" was able to enjoy his hobbies, especially his golf, softball, pool and dart leagues. He belonged to multiple social clubs, was always up for a good time and was typically the life of the party. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Friday, August 15, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., where a Blessing Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice.

    Knew John for many years at US Steel. Always friendly and kind. Remembering the USS bowling parties and picnics. I cherish those memories. May he rest in peace.
