Obituary For Joseph A. Inverso

September 16, 1937 - August 27, 2017

Inverso, Joseph A. "Joe", age 79, on Sunday, August 27, 2017, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Penn Hills. Beloved husband of 57 years to Carol (Segreti); adoring father of Joseph "Joey", Jeffrey and John "Shawn" (Carrie) Inverso; cherished grandfather of Lisa Marie (Darren Davis) Inverso and Leanne Alana Inverso; son of the late Joseph and Angeline (Chirico) Inverso; brother of Donald "Dino" (the late Marie) Inverso and the late Vincenzina "Vi" Chirico, Anthony (survived by Naomi) Inverso, John (Esperanza "Hope") Inverso and Marie (Tom) Buti. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Joe was a driven and ambitious man who worked every day of his life to provide for his family. He established Homecraft Building Center in the 1970's and Gil-Con Tool Company in the 1980's. He could be found working at the stores with his three sons on any given day. While his stores were extremely important to him, nothing was more important to him than his family. For Joe, family always came first. He was a loving and devoted husband. He was a loving father and cared for his children above all else. His three sons were his everything, and not a day passed that he didn't tell them how much he loved them. He was a loving grandfather who adored and cherished his granddaughters. When he saw them his smile would light up the whole room. He was a loving, kind, gentle and compassionate man who loved life, loved living, and loved to be. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas A'Becket Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Pittsburgh Mercy Mental Health Services, 101 Bradford Road, Suite 320, Wexford, PA 15090 or www.pittsburghmercy.org.

I have wonderful memories of Joe. He was a dear friend of my husband, Ron Moritz, who was a plumbing supply salesman. My sympathies to his family.

So very saddened by the loss of such great man. He was much more than my uncle....he was a mentor to me. I will never forget him or his tough love. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Carol and my cousins Jeff, Sean and Joey. Rest in peace uncle Joe.
