Obituary For Judith M. (Lester) "Judy" Robertson

Age 82, of Baldwin, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

Beloved wife of 52 years to the late George A. Robertson; loving mother of Susan J. Nichols and Scott A. (Nancy) Robertson; proud grandma of Katie and Dan; daughter of the late Harry R. and Janet M. Lester; sister of the late Robert H. (the late Mary Ann) Lester. Judy was a longtime and active member of the Whitehall Presbyterian Church. She attended Westminster College where she earned her teaching degree. Judy went on to teach in the West Jefferson Hills School District as well as substitute teaching in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District; she entered into retirement after working for Development Dimensions International. She was a member of South Hills Knitting Guild where she pursued her lifelong passion for knitting and she played in several different Bridge groups. Judy and her husband enjoyed traveling mostly to beach destinations. Her grandchildren and their activities were a great source of joy for her as well. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 1-4 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel. When you move away from friends you haven't seen in a while, you picture them where you last saw them. For us, it was on the back deck of Pete & Dee Weaver in May, 2016 along with Warren & Darlene Lea. This was the remnant that was left of the original DDI bridge group that formed in the early 90's. We enjoyed so many good times with Judy and George. It saddens us to be unable to attend Judy's funeral, but she would be the first to say, "It's okay!" It gives us great comfort to know how strong her faith was. Both Judy & George were amazing friends. We've missed George and his jokes for the past six years, and now we'll be missing him and his lovely bride. Even though the miles between us has kept us apart, we made sure we stayed in touch via texts and Facebook. Judy - you are dearly loved and will be missed by your family and many, many friends. However, thoughts of you will always brighten our days when we recall the "great times" we shared. Jan & Bob Rogers 🧶 🎳♠️❤️♦️♣️🦃💐

Judy , I am so saddened by your passing. If we could only have taken a trip down memory lane and remember our conversations, the joyful ones and the sad ones. Laugh again at things we talked about about that we would be in trouble for if anyone knew. How well I could knit holes. Rest well my dear lady and I'll be smiling when I think of you
