August 5, 1946 - August 17, 2016

Schanck, Kathleen M. (Hamilton), age 70, on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 of South Side Slopes. Beloved wife of 50 years to Joseph L. Schanck; loving mom to Joseph W. (Linda), Tina (Jim) Pierce, Suzanne (Brian) Staab, Michael (Heather), Marc and Matthew (Bernadette) Schanck; proud grandmother of Ali, Joey, Savannah, Madison, Lexi, Cheyenne, Lindsay, Michael, Kylie, Natalie and Laura; cherished sister to five brothers and three sisters. Also survived by in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese of Lisieux, 1 St Therese Ct., Munhall on Monday at 10:00 a.m. FRIENDS PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. If desired, family suggests contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, Attn: Donor Services, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

    Dear Joe and family, We are so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. Kathy was a wonderful lady, always a cheerful hello and asking how you were doing. Never too busy for her family and friends. Fondest memories are when we were all younger and Herm, Donna, Rich and I would play cards with you and Kathy. So many laughs and such a great time we always had.     She was a true matriarch. Loved by her family and loved her family in return. The few times I spoke with her, you could see the pride in you all. Each and every one of you. She may have taken a piece of your heart but, she will remain in your heart always, guiding and blessing you with the things she taught you during her time here on earth. God Bless you all!
