Obituary For Kurt "Kacy" Edward Carlson

Age 67, passed peacefully surrounded by family, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, of Brentwood.

Loving husband of Rebecca (Donalies) Carlson for 42 years; loving father of Kevin Carlson; son of the late Delbert and Ruth (Schoemer) Carlson; brother of Roy (Barbara) Carlson and Sandy (Wayne) Narr. Also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.

We believe-and Kacy believed, when he was still able to express himself-that there are still people who, above all else, live to serve those who cannot help themselves. In this era, where cruelty toward the most vulnerable among us and the impulse to take away their medical care have become matters of federal policy, we want to recognize the organizations that deserve to be remembered. These groups provided care and support that Kacy benefited from, and they continue to struggle for funding to help the next family.

We ask you to consider donating to: Elizabeth Seton Center, 1900 Pioneer Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15226 - www.setoncenterpgh.org or Presbyterian SeniorCare Foundation (Dementia 360), 1215 Hulton Road, Oakmont, PA 15139 - www.givetosrcare.org or Family Hospice, 310 Fisk Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
Arrangements were handled privately through the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227.

Becky, I am so sorry to hear of Kacy's passing, he was such a nice guy. My family has been sharing memories of stopping at his shop in Mt. Oliver to buy tubes for our TV's and playing chess with him in high school. We will be praying for you and your family. Love you, Donna
