Obituary For Lorraine M. Winans

December 4, 1924 - September 18, 2014 Winans, Lorraine M. Age 89, on Thursday, September 18, 2014, of Pittsburgh.

Daughter of the late Lawrence and Rosalia Winans; sister of Marilyn Bleriot, Kathleen Koepfer, Nancy Kennedy, Thomas, Charles, William and Lawrence Winans and the late Patricia Crowe. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and inlaws. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday in St. Wendelin Church at 10 AM.     Our Aunt Lorraine was a precious soul and we are saddened by her loss. Having been a sister of St. Francis for 44 years, Lorraine had no children and was very dear to her 28 nieces and nephews. Her squinting smile and gentle laugh will long be remembered by those who loved her. After leaving the convent in 1989 Lorraine was even more devoted to her elderly mother. Lorraine had a long and difficult illness yet she received compassionate care from the staff, nurses and doctors who cared for her over the last several years. Special recognition should go to Aunt Lorraine's brothers and sisters who helped her over the years and kept close to her during her long final illness. Your mother and father would have appreciated your sacrifice and consoled our loss.
