Obituary For Manuel M. Torres

March 27, 1923 - October 9, 2015

Torres, Manuel M. Age 92, peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 9, 2015, of South Park, formally of Knoxville.

Beloved husband of 61 years to Rosalia M. (Garcia) Torres; loving father of Manuel M. (Linda) and Jeannette M. Torres; son of the late Eva Martinez; brother of Jaime and Arturo Martinez. Also survived by in-laws and cousins. Manuel will be missed by his dog, Chloe. Manuel was a long time employee of J&L Steel and retired from the U.S. Army with 24 years of service. He served in the South Pacific during WWII. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Tuesday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to the American Diabetic Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22315, www.diabetes.org.
