Obituary For Margaret "Nancy" Spochacz

Of Arlington Heights, Pittsburgh, PA, has left us to join her loved ones in heaven. Just shy of her 86th birthday, Nancy lost her courageous fight with dementia and lifelong battle with mental illness. Most beloved wife of the late Andrew "Sonny" Spochacz; daughter of Susan and Bill Goob; sister of John Goob and the late Bill Goob. She will be forever missed by her daughter, Karrie Spochacz, and her husband, Matt Kraski; and son, Andy Spochacz, and his wife, Paula Spochacz. Nancy was lovingly devoted to her grandchildren, Andy Spochacz, Loreal Ricchino, and her great-grandson, Landon Spochacz. If you were fortunate enough to know this remarkable woman, you'd know that she was the epitome of kindness and selflessness. Nancy had a smile that would warm your heart. She favored simple things in life like sitting on her front porch with a hot cup of coffee and a cigarette in hopes that she'd strike up a conversation with one of her beloved neighbors. All were welcome. Dementia took many things from her, such as her love of cooking and baking, but it never dimmed her bright light, sweet nature and smile. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Monday, February 24, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:15a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org/pa or NAMI the National Alliance on Mental Illness, www.nami.org.

Andy & Family, So sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. When we lived on Patterson St. I'd take the girls for walks when they were young & see your mom. She was always so friendly & talkative. My prayers are with you & your family. Robin Parrish
