Joyce, Martin R. "Marty"

Age 85, of Whitehall, formerly of the Bluff where he was known as "Bobby", suddenly on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, after the untimely death of his daughter.

Beloved husband of Barbara Helfrich and the late Alice (Szynborski) Joyce; loving father of John, Marty (Debbie), Maureen (Thomas) Kinneavy and the late Colleen Joyce; grandfather of Christi Maruk, Leah and Dylan Joyce, Martin and Tyler Joyce, Jordan and Colleen Kinneavy; great-grandfather of Kasey, Kylie, Jake; brother of Mary McShea, Nora Murray and Ann (Stu) Viess, Marty is predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Walter, Coleman and James, and a sister, Peggy Joyce. Also survived by his brother-in-law, John Krestian and many loving nieces and nephews. Marty was a retired City of Pittsburgh Police Officer, U.S. Coast Guard Veteran, a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran serving in the Korean War, and an American Legion member Post 720. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 2-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Church of the Epiphany, 184 Washington Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, on Monday at 10 AM.
