Obituary For Mary D. Freund

July 8, 1929 - June 6, 2014

Freund, Mary D. (Sunder), age 84, with her family at her side went home to the Lord on June 6, 2014 of Carrick. Loving wife of the late Norman A.; beloved mother of Denise (the late Richard) Harkins, Mark (the late Cindy), Edward (Barb), Kurt (Kim), and Jay (Missy); proud grandmother of Mark, Jr., Kristie, Kylie, Kiersten (Justin), Jay, Jr., Morgan and the late Kurt, Jr.; great-grandmother of Kamryn, Lukas, Dayton, Jordan, Makalya, Dillan and the late Kurt III; sister of William Sunder; predeceased by brothers and sisters. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where a funeral prayer will be held on Monday morning at 10. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Norbert Church at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Children's Hospital, Operation Smile, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15224.

    Denise, so very sorry about your mom. Wish we could've connected so I knew which day she was laid out, u know I would have been there for you. Very sorry. Hope you know the Lord will see you through this too. Praying for His peace to comfort you. Love ya bunches...call when you can. ,

    Sorry to hear of Aunt Mary's passing. I was glad to have been able to visit last year and see her and the rest of my cousins and families. She will be missed and know how loved she was by all. I hope and pray for healing for you all. Love you. Rebecca and Bob Kwekel

    My Dear cousins, so sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Mary. It is hard when we lose our parents. It's been a year of losses for your family and another one is not easy.. May you find peace is knowing she is with your dad and brother, and in our Heavenly Father's loving embrace. Unfortunately I will not be able to make the trip out to Pittsburgh. I'm glad I got to see some of you last year and hope to make it again in the future. Hugs, love and prayers for all of you as you get through this difficult time. Love Linda.

It's been way too long since I've seen all of you but I sure have many great memories of spending a week or two every summer it Pittsburgh when I was young. Many good times I'll never forget.
