Obituary For Mary Ellen Overman

Age 71, on Saturday, July 9, 2022, of Brentwood, formerly of Conroe, Texas.

Beloved wife of the late Donny Overman; devoted mother of Jennie (Chad Balog) Overman, D.J. (Kelly) Overman, and Tania (Stewart) Ackerman; loving grandmother of Camille, Chloe, Connor, and Cade Overman, David (Emmaline) Ackerman, and Devon and Thomas Ackerman; great-grandmother of Cowen, Peyton Ann, and Seylah Grace Ackerman; daughter of the late Michael K. and Mary (Krusko) Reut; sister of Pam (Fred) Guzman and the late Michael J. (survived by Celeste) Reut. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Mary was known for her love of the Houston Astros and enjoyed quilting and singing. She was also known for her strong faith in God. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were made by John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227.     Dear, Dear Mary! She is loved by so many! She spread joy and happiness everywhere she went! I met at Church and enjoyed spending time with her in our quilting group and her birthday party! Such a sweet lady! I will keep my memories close!

    Prayers of comfort and peace for Mary's family. She was an incredibly special woman and I had the honor and pleasure of scrapbooking with her when she lived in Georgia.     Mary was a delight and always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. I, like many others, will treasure the kleenex holder she made me...she was so inspiring with the things she accomplished even with her physical challenges. When my mom moved here from Texas, their joint love for the Astros immediately connected them. Mom brought Mary dinner and they had a grand time watching a game or two. She so loved her Lord and her church family. This world lost a beautiful soul....she will be missed.

    I met Mary about 10 years ago. She was always so kind and welcoming. We did get to make a few memories. We played bingo together a couple times, laughed and had fun. The best memory, I think was when Jenn took us to a Pirates and Astros game at PNC Park! Mary was in her glory, she loved her Astros! Kathy
