Obituary For Mary Louise Englert

Age 92, passed away July 5, 2025. Born in Bentleyville, PA to Domenico and Josephine Vesco. Graduate of The Mercy School of Nursing working at Mercy for her entire career. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Louis Englert, parents, brothers Domenic, Savino (Philemonia), and Lewis Vesco. She will be remembered by all the nieces and nephews.

Mary leaves behind a loving family, including her son, William Englert (Mary Lou) of Baldwin, daughter Josephine Divel (Joseph) of Rockville, Maryland, a cherished grandmother to Clara Trueblood (Brian), Mary Jo Englert, Julie Englert Barb (Scott), Laura Schlax (Kenny), and Sarah Divel (fiance Brian Grau) as well as great-grandmother to five handsome and brilliant grandsons, Henry, Beau, Paul, Luke, and Zachary.

Mary was a devoted mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother who brought joy and love to the lives of all who knew her. She loved the competition of all sports in watching or in participation. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and the senior trips to the casino, serving as an officer in those organizations.

We would like to thank the wonderful and loving care of the staff at the Sheridan of Cool Springs and Bridges Hospice.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA, 15227 on Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice or to the Bridges Hospice or Habitat for Humanity. Please send condolences to www.johnfslater.com

    Dear Englart Family-I met your mother at The Sheridan. She had a wonderful sense of humor & always happy. So sorry for you loss. She and my mother spent many evenings there sitting side by side playing a game w Lauren or watching TV. They also shared the dinner/table nightly for years which was lways an adventure & fun (ny). Barb's daughter.

    Our Deepest Sympathies to Mary's Family. You are in our thoughts & prayers at this difficult time. We were neighbors for years & we loved Mary & Lou, some of the best people we knew!
