Knestrick, Mary Orbin

Of Baldwin Boro, born April 16, 1925, daughter of the late Margaret Sankey Orbin, left earth quietly on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the age of 91. Mary is survived by her daughters, Jill A. Knestrick Temel and husband Eugene Temel of Lake Placid, Florida and Beth Ann Markiewicz and husband Daniel R. Markiewicz of Bear Rocks, PA. She is also survived by her grandson Dr. Ryan E. Temel, his wife Crystal and great-grandson Hayden of Lexington, Kentucky and her granddaughter Erin Temel Buckley and her husband Jared Buckley of San Jose California. Mary was a 1943 graduate of Carrick High School; lived in Baldwin Boro from 1960 until 2009, when she moved to Greensburg to be closer to her daughter. Mary was a long time volunteer at St. Clair Hospital's ER. She worked at Salon Olivieri for over 30 years. She loved to walk on Brownsville Road, Prospect Road and at South Park. She was preceded in death by her sisters Marjorie Rivers of Monroeville and Joan Kerr of Upper St. Clair. Friends and family will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227 on Thursday from 6-9 pm. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Rd., Pgh., PA 15237.
