Brown, Mary (Sorick), on Friday, August 5, 2016, of Baldwin Boro.

Wife of the late Richard D. Brown; daughter of the late George and Marie Sorick; sister of George F. (Jo Marie) Sorick, Margaret R. (George) Samels and the late William (survived by Dorothy) Sorick; aunt of Michael and Jeffrey Sorick, Dan and Joe Samels, Holly Malone, Denise Davis, Linda Olasin, Colleen Jackson and Renee Smith; Mary is also survived by her longtime caregiver and friend, Cindy Schumacher and also her great nieces and nephews. Mary was a 27 year employee of U.S. Steel in their wage/payroll department, played drums, as well as taught drums at a Castle Shannon music store. She was also a drum instructor for Royal American Regiment at Point Park University for five years and was a member of the muscians union for 25 years. She played for the Maurice Spitalny All Girl Orchestra and was a member of the Dom Trimarchi Trio. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Sunday, August 7, 2016, 2-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Wendelin Church at 10:30 am.
