Obituary For Maryann Shanahan

Age 90, of Grand Residence, Upper St. Clair, formerly of Brentwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

Beloved daughter of the late John M. and Helen A. (Trageser) Shanahan; loving sister of the late Patricia Shanahan, Donald (survived by Elizabeth) Shanahan, and Robert (the late Ruth) Shanahan; cherished aunt of Bobby Shanahan, Kelly (the late Ron) Schnelzer, Leslie (Denny) Lint, Lynn (Gene) Bronder and Steve (Chrisy) Shanahan and their families. Maryann faithfully worked for Alcoa, Inc., as an Administrative Assistant for 33 years. She was a member of both the Alcoa 25 Years and the Retirees Clubs. The family would like to thank Anova Hospice for their wonderful services and care. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Monday, October 2, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m.

    Richard Sica

    Maryann's sister Pat worked for me as my secretary for 20 years at Thorp Reed & Armstrong. After her retirement, my wife Kathie and I would meet both of them for an occasional lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed their company and got to know Maryann. Both she and Pat were ist class ladies who loved their families and especially those neices and nephews. We will keep them in our prayers.
