Obituary For Matthew A. Brennan

Age 59, of Whitehall, after a blessed life on this Earth and bringing countless joy to countless people, Matthew Brennan was called home by our Lord on Monday, June 2, 2025. Matt, there will be a long line waiting there to welcome you. Just as you brought so much joy to us here, Heaven now gets to experience it for eternity.
Matt was the son of the late William A. and Josephine E. Brennan of Whitehall. He is survived by his brothers Bill (Carol) of Whitehall, Michael (Debbie) of Darien, CT and the late Robert A. Brennan. You could not help to be drawn to Matt shortly after meeting him. He radiated to you the definition of warmth and love. While he didn’t need to say much, you easily could tell how special he was. If you knew Matt, your life was made fuller.
Matt, you will be sorely missed but NEVER forgotten.
A sincere THANK YOU from his family goes out to the dedicated Verland Foundation staff involved in any way at his group home. They took great care of Matt over the past 20+ years and made him feel wanted and loved.
Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Thursday morning at 9:15 am. Please accept our deepest sympathies for your loss. Matt and our sister Dana had a lot of fun together when young. They participated in the same activities and in the same groups. We remember Matt just as you describe him, a man of few words but always greeted everyone with a warm smile and hug. May he rest in peace and his memory be eternal. The Maravich family.

My deepest condolences for Matts family. He was so sweet and always ready with a hug. Matt visited me in my offices when he came to the warehouse in Moon. He kept me up to date by making sure my wall calendar was set on the right month and then pointing out events for that month. He will be missed very much. Joyce Lay
