Obituary For Maureen K. "Rean" Swanson

Age 76, on Monday, August 10, 2020, of Whitehall.

Wife of the late Carl H. Swanson Jr; mother of Stacie, Brent (Elisa) Swanson, and Cara (Jess) Swanson; grandmother of Kiersten, Jack, and Ryan Swanson, Tatum Grover, and Eathan DiTullio; daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Braithwaite) Kenavey; sister of Don (Linda) Kenavey, Terri (Drew) D'Alessandro, Pat (Bill) Yates, and Dennis (Amy) Kenavey. Rean was a past president of Christian Mothers at St. Gabriel Church where she also volunteered at Thursday lunch room for over 30 years. She was an avid reader and hard to beat at Scrabble. She enjoyed traveling the world and stopping in any casino she could find along the way. She loved spending time with family and friends and loved hosting a holiday gathering where you always left with a fun, unique, and sometimes ridiculous parting gift. Family and close friends will be received at John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc. 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Visitation for family and close friends will continue on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her blessing service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests sending a contribution to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Maureen's name, 600 Waterfront Dr. #223, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Rean always gave more than she got. In honor of her we ask that you pay it forward.

Stacie, Brent, Cara and families: Heartfelt sympathy to all of you. I have so many great memories of the times we had at school (both St. Gabes & Seton) cafeteria duties, CCM meetings and the bus trips with her and Anita. May your memories and the laughter you all shared sustain you. Gods blessings and prayers to all of you, sincerely Pat Young and family.
