Obituary For Michael E. Kelly

Age 79, peacefully on Friday January 28, 2022, of Baldwin Township, formerly of Edgewood. Beloved husband of Silvana A. (Arbib); loving father of Audrey R. Brown and Kimberly K. (Victor) Walters; proud Papa of Sydney, Rachel, Anthony and Benjamin; brother of Kathleen McQuoid and Margaret Devlin; uncle of Kelly, Kevin, Jeffrey, Deby, Diana and Sean; and grand uncle of Riley. He is also survived by cousins and many friends. Mike enlisted in the Air Force in 1961 and served 8 years on active duty as an Aircraft Loadmaster. He joined the Air Force Reserve in 1969 at the 911the Airlift Wing in Pittsburgh. He was the Chief Master Sergeant for the 32nd Aerial Port Squadron until he retired in 1986. Mike made his sobriety a priority and helped countless others achieve the same goal over the last 40 years. He loved a good joke, never took life too seriously and never had a complaint. He will be missed by many. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 5-8pm. Interment will be held privately at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. The Kelly Family would like to kindly ask that all visitors please wear a mask to protect vulnerable family members who will also be attending. If desired, family suggests contributions to Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, 1 North Linden Street, Duquesne, Pa 15110, 412-460-3663.
