Obituary For Michael J. Piatt

July 18, 1976 - September 4, 2017

Piatt, Michael J. Age 41, after a long, courageous battle with cancer, peacefully on Monday, September 4, 2017, of Castle Shannon, formerly of Upper St. Clair.

Beloved husband of 20 years to Erin A. (McCaffrey) Piatt; loving father of Sophia and Julia Piatt; cherished son-in-law of Richard and Kathleen McCaffrey; brother-in-law of Tricia McCaffrey; son of Lonnie and Bobbi Jo Piatt and the late Sally (Haynos) and Henry Hesse; grandson of Carol Piatt; brother of Andrea, Tim, Tony (Jen), Aaron (Tiffany), Andy, Angela, Amber (Jamie) and Jason (Ashley); also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was his girls' biggest softball cheerleader and supporter; traveling up and down the eastern states. He will be deeply missed by his fellow softball families. A special thanks to the third floor Hillman Cancer Unit for all of their love, care and compassion. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 6-8 p.m and Friday, September 8, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Saturday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Victory Maronite Church at 10:00 a.m.

    Erin and girls, Cindy and I are truly sorry for your loss. Getting to know Mike during the time we were neighbors made me realize how much a loving husband he was and how dedicated he was as a father. His family was his LIFE!! we are sure he will be missed by all and he will be LOVED, CHERISHED, and REMEMBERED FOREVER! You will all be in our prayers. All our LOVE. Craig & Cindy
