Obituary For Oscar F. Jernstrom

May 7, 1925 - March 26, 2017

Jernstrom, Oscar F. Age 91, on Sunday, March 26, 2017, of Brentwood, formerly of Greenfield.

Beloved husband of 63 years to Mary R. (Walsh) Jernstrom; loving father of Gerard P. "Jerry", Mary Greta "Garbo" (Rich) Muster and Regis M. (Mary); adored Pap of Fredrick W. Pegher, Sara J. (Matt) Lott, Regis "R.J." Jernstrom and Ian P. Trumpie; proud great-grandpap of Kylie Rose and Willow Rose; son of the late Oscar and Mary Jernstrom; brother of Jean Wagner and the late Ruth Cunningham and Robert and Greta Jernstrom; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Oscar served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, retired from LTV, and was a friend of Bill W. for 52 yrs. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sylvester Church at 10:00 am. If desired, family suggests contributions to The Rebos House, 5424 Second Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15207 or St. Sylvester Parish, 3754 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh PA 15227.

    Oscar was a good friend to me and many others. I will truly miss seeing him. When in Pittsburgh I usually always stopped to see him at Greenfield. My deepest sympathy to All of Oscars family and friends!
