Schmaeling, Paul V.

Age 87, on Saturday, May 31, 2014, of Brentwood

Beloved wife of Madlyn (Reiss) Schmaeling for over 59 years; loving father of Joseph P. (Alison Budd) Schmaeling, Paul (Jennifer) Schmaeling, and Jean (William) Valentine; grandfather of Kristen (Max), Kelly, Dana, Samantha, Julia, Michael, Emily, Joey, and Erica; brother of Mary Schmaeling. Paul was a proud Army Veteran serving during WWII as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He retired after 42 years of service as an engineer from the Union Railroad. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Monday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sylvester Church at 10:00.
