Obituary For Peter E. Schanck

Age 95, on Sunday, February 21, 2021, of Arlington.

Beloved husband of 71 years to Mary Lou (Nath), loving father of Nancy Karlo, Mary Ann (Robert) Schanck-Fescemyer, Kathleen Schanck-Musulin and the late infant Ronald Schanck; proud pap of Nicholas (Kayce), Brandon, Jesse and Kyler; great-grandfather of Dakota; brother of Susan (the late Albert) Flynn; predeceased by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Pete proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from the Monongahela Connecting Railroad. Visitations and services were held honorably, lovingly and privately. Arrangements handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227.

    Patty McArdle

    Pete was one in a million. He was the most patient, kind, loving and considerate gentleman. He displayed a great example of a loving husband to Mary Lou and father to his 3 beautiful daughters, Nancy, MaryAnn and Kathy. He was also the best pap to his 4 grandsons, Nickie, Brandon, Jessie and Kyler. And the best uncle Pete to his many, many nephews and nieces. I will always be grateful for the hours spent with Pete fishing and listening to him telling me his stories about living through the great depression, what it was like surviving in WWII and working hard on the railroad. But most of all I enjoyed his stories of loving his family as he did with all of his heart. Truly a wonderful man that will be greatly missed by so many. To the Schanck Family you have my deepest heartfelt sympathy for the loss of such a wonderful man. Patty McArdle
