Age 96, sadly passed from this life on Saturday, February 24, 2024, formerly of Overbrook. Pete is survived by his loving wife and sweetheart of 75 years, Rosemary; devoted, proud, and fun-loving father of Peter M. Jr. (Judy), Rosemary (the late Ronald) Begey, Margaret (the late Joseph) Martin, Michael (the late Barbara), and Frances (Rich) Hanlon; doting and adored pap to his 13 grandchildren; caring, tender-hearted great-grandfather to 13. Peter readily served his country during WWII, was a devout Catholic, an enthusiastic sports fan, and throughout his life, enjoyed gardening, reading, music, horseshoes, puzzle building, swimming, and card playing. Pete was an avid model railroader with an impressive collection of HO scale trains. Friends and family will be received at John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, Pennsylvania 15227, on Friday, March 1 from 2:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday, March 2 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Basil Church at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
