Obituary For Rachel Virginia "Jean" (Skiles) Hennessey

May 10, 1922 - September 7, 2017

Age 95, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Asbury Heights, Mt. Lebanon.

A longtime resident of Whitehall, Jean also lived in Overbrook, Emsworth, Uniontown and her hometown of Scottdale, PA. A 50-year member of South Hills Country Club, Jean was a loyal volunteer with Meals on Wheels and Goodwill. She was a member of Baldwin United Methodist Church and before that, Fairhaven United Methodist Church. Jean enjoyed the friendship of many, and the fellowship of her bridge mates. Jean was preceded in death by her husband William J., her son William J. III., sisters Alice Canose and Frances (Dolly) Wolfe and brothers James Edward Skiles Jr. and Robert Warren Skiles. She is survived by her brother, Jerome Skiles and many loving nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation and interment will be private. A Memorial Service will be held at the Asbury Heights, Hickman Chapel on Saturday, September 16th at 10:30 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to the Whitehall Meals on Wheels, 3725 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227.
