February 14, 1925 - May 6, 2018 Book, Raymond T. Age 93, on Sunday, May 6, 2018, of Whitehall. Beloved husband of 62 years to Mary Ann (Schriner); loving father of Thomas, Larry (Kathy), Karen (Bill) Kukol, Linda Book, Ray, II, Kevin (Myra) and Charlotte (Mario) Bruni; proud grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of nine; brother of the late Don (survived by Hester). Ray was extremely proud to have served in the Army during WWII, where he fought in Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe. He was a former Whitehall Councilman, served three terms in the PA State House of Representatives where he was a sponsor of the Organ Donor Bill, and was a well known volunteer at Jefferson Hospital. He was also an avid baseball fan and witnessed Babe Ruth's final two homeruns at Forbes Field. Above all, he was a family man. Ray's love and pride for his family was only exceeded by the love and pride his family felt for him. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, 15227 on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:15.
