Age 68, on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, of Brentwood .

Beloved husband of Lynn (Vargo) Platt for 20 years; loving father of Kimberlee (Lance) Lane, Krista (Larry) Ball and the late Danette Platt; grandfather of Zachary, Alyssa, Adam, Erin, Maggie, Ryley and Jamey; brother of Gary Platt and Rita (Bernard) Winters. Dick is also survived by his beloved dogs Reggie, Bailey and Sophie. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Friday, July 04, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. at which time a memorial service will take place. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to a charity of one's choice in Dick's name.
