Age 71, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, of Munhall. Beloved husband of Roseann (Kellington) Stewart; loving father of Suzanne, Danielle (Alisa), Justin, Amy, Nicole (Joshua) Winfield, James Richard (Melissa), Lindsay and the late Royce; cherished grandfather of Tyler W., Tyler S., Christopher, Adeline, Ashton, Isabella, Sydney, Aden, Keith, Sincere, C'yniah, Greyson, Aleeah, Messiah, Briella, Lily, Bennett, and Rory; son of the late Ronald Nelson and Justine (Clemons) Stewart; brother of Kathy (Eric) Pitts, David (Rhonda) Kendle, Randall, Anthony (Karla), and the late Renee Stewart Betten. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Richard proudly served as a Vietnam Navy Veteran. A passionate racer, he was the founder of R. Stewart Motor Sports and a dedicated Sprint Car racer. His weekends were filled with racing and family, and he found great joy at the track surrounded by loved ones. He was a proud seventh-generation Floridian and experienced gator hunter. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227 on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 2-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 12:00 noon.
