Obituary For Rita L. McCarthy

Age 58, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025.

Daughter of the late William and Doris (Sulkowski) McCarthy; sister of Daniel (Kim) McCarthy and the late Anne Stanley; aunt of Jessica (Rob) Cheplic, Matthew (Meghan) Stanley, Caitlin (Ian Metz) Stanley and Brittany Gerulis; great-aunt of Jillian, Mary, Stevie, Noah and Aria; niece of Roger and Joyce Sulkowski and James McCarthy. Also survived by numerous cousins. Rita worked for the Post-Gazette as a carrier for over 25 years and currently for Giant Eagle. She was a good-hearted, caring, bingo-loving individual with the "gift of gab". She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, St. Therese Church, 1 Saint Therese Court, Munhall, PA 15120 at 10:00 a.m.
