February 28, 1922 - October 25, 2017 Walter, Robert B. Age 95, on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, of Castle Shannon, formerly of Dormont.

Husband of the late Rose (Perla) Walter; beloved father of Barbara (Jim) Emmett and Dee Walter; loving companion of Bentley and Skibo; brother of the late Charles, Richard, Adelaide Hess and William Walter; brother-in-law of Dorothea Shemonitz; also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. Bob was a proud U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII and was trained as a pilot for the Army Air Corps. He also was a retiree of Columbia Gas, a longtime member of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church in Whitehall, an usher, and member of their golf league. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Friday, October 27, 2017, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Saturday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of The Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 am.
