Obituary For Robert D. Szemanski

Szemanski, Robert D. “Rob”, age 80, of Brentwood, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away at home on Friday, May 1st. Husband of Barbara (Tasillo); father of Bobby Szemanski of Baldwin; Susan McGee (Bob) of Baldwin; brother of Joan Williams, Frank Szemanski and the deceased Rose Banderinko, Stanley Szemanski, Marie Tumes, Angela Pajewski, Alfreda Osborne; grandfather to Brianna (Ryan) Snyder and Corey McGee and great-grandfather to Rylynn Rose Snyder. Rob retired from Dravo and then worked an additional 20 years at Fisher Body before retiring in 2003. Rob enjoyed fishing, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Bridges Hospice, especially his buddy Nancy. Due to the current Coronavirus, visitation, service and interment will be held privately.     Bobby,as we always called him,was a special brother-in-law! More like a brother.,,,Our condolences to my sister Barbara and her family.Over the years Jack and I were so Blessed to have shared many hours together making memories.Whether it was meeting at a restaurant for dinner, traveling together,or just sitting at the Lake enjoying the peacefulness of a card game..We shared so many laughs together.....Rest in peace Bob ,finally "pain free". You always stayed STRONG thru it all.....You will be greeted with open arms by so many of our loved ones that had gone before you......That will be "one of the biggest card game ABOVE!!" Rest in Peace! You have a "special place in our hearts!.
