Mitts, Robert W., Sr. Age 96, on Saturday, September 26, 2015, formerly of Brentwood.

Husband of the late Margaret M. Mitts; father of the late Robert W. Jr. (Elaine C.); grandfather of Robert W., III and Scott E. Mitts; longtime companion of Dorothy Gray. Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Tuesday, from 2 - 8 pm where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am.

    My condolences to the Mitts family. I'm very sorry for your loss. Not just any words will help ease your pain during this trying time of loss. My heart truly goes out to you. God's promises provide us comfort and a beautiful hope for the future. Isaiah 25:8 says, "He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces...For Jehovah himself has spoken it." Knowing too that God has locked your son in his loving memory, and yearns to resurrect him is helpful. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
