Obituary For Rose Marie Mathews

April 25, 1931 - May 17, 2015

Mathews, Rose Marie, age 84, on Sunday, May 17, 2015 of Overbrook, formerly of Mt. Oliver. Wife of the late Harry F.; beloved mother of Charlotte Campbell (the late William), David (Kathie), Barbara Mathews, Donald (Patty), Daniel (Lynne) and Jeffrey (Sue) Mathews; loving grandmother of twelve, predeceased by one grandchild; great-grandmother of two; sister of Marilyn (Don) Peron and the late Elmer W. Eger and Gerald R. Eger. Rose Marie was a devoted Catholic and faithful to Padre Pio. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 1-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Thursday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Wendelin Church at 10:00 a.m.

    Rose Matthews was a very nice woman and neighbor. I sang with her on the choir at St. Joseph's on Ormsby Avenue. She also sewed for me a dress for the October fests we had at the school. I recently gave the dress to Goodwill. I kept it all these years. We had a lot of fun dancing in the school gym.
