Obituary For Rosemarie "Rose" A. Frisch

Just shy of 90, formerly of Whitehall, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday February 27, 2024.

Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Jack Frisch; loving mother to Cherie (Robert) Fitzpatrick, Debbie (Dr. Robert) Bittel, and Dennis (Sherry) Frisch; proud grandma and mimi to Shawn (Cate) Fitzpatrick, Dr. Matthew (Cindy) Bittel, Jennifer (Jim) Derby, Dr. Douglas (Marea) Bittel, Dana (Mark) Thomas, and Chad, Courtney, and Chelsey Frisch; great grammy to Luke, Ethan, Asher, Lexie, Zach, Nate Bittel, and Baby Boy Derby expected to arrive in July 2024 and great GiGi to William Fitzpatrick, Mark and Christopher Thomas; also survived by cousins and her loving and devoted caregiver, Carmen Capizzi.

Rose attended St. Wendelin elementary and high school where she met Jack and lifelong girlfriends whom she kept in touch with throughout her life. During high school and after graduation, Rose worked in her parent’s store, Carrick Poultry. Rose had 3 children under the age of 2 and juggled raising her family while working in the family business. Rose’s work ethic did not go unnoticed as you could see her working alongside her son and daughter-in-law at Frisch’s until she was in her 80’s.

Rose was a kind and caring woman whose Catholic faith was very important to her. She had initially aspired to be a nurse but this never came to fruition. She inspired her daughter to become a nurse and subsequently multiple grandchildren chose careers serving others.

Rose learned to play golf later in life and was a member of South Hills Country Club women's golf association. Rose had three hole in ones in her golfing career; a truly remarkable feat. In addition to golf, she was a member of the women’s bowling league.

Rose was always dressed to the nines as she would enjoy shopping trips with “the girls”. Rose and the girls shopped the outlets in Reading, PA looking for the perfect Christmas outfits for her eight grandchildren. Such special memories from those trips are still mentioned at family gatherings. The "shopping gene” has been passed along to Rose’s granddaughters.

To celebrate her 85th birthday; Rose, Cherie, Debbie, and Sherry took a trip to Amelia Island, FL for relaxation and of course, shopping.

Rose and Jack traveled the world but found their paradise on Hilton Head Island golfing and spending time with friends. HHI became a family vacation spot where the whole family celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Rose was a phenomenal cook. She paid homage to her German heritage by hosting Oktoberfest annually and baking traditional Christmas cookies and recipes that had been passed down from her mother. For years, she entertained her family on Christmas Eve making her delicious homemade Christmas pie.

Rose was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside and will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:00 a.m.
