Age 94, peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2023, formerly of Mt. Oliver.

Beloved wife of the late Elmer Daniel Rethage; loving mother of Francine (Jim) Finch and Ruth Ann (Robert) Hetzel; devoted Gram of Amy (Dan) Gravener, Andria Reynolds, Jim (Kimberly) Finch, Bob (Erin) Hetzel and Jeffrey (Kayla) Hetzel; loving GiGi of Jillian Reynolds, Madison Gravener, Blakeleigh Hetzel, Alexander and Elliot Finch; sister of the late Joseph Stempka, Audrey Detemple and Connie Maginn. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ruth's daughters and their families would like to thank her "caretaker family" at Kane Scott Regional Center for the loving care and kindness they provided over the last five years and thanks to Gallagher Hospice for their care over the past few months as well. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Monday, June 19, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
