Obituary For Sam F. Cerminaro

June 3, 1920 - May 5, 2018

Cerminaro, Sam F. Age 98, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 5, 2018, of Whitehall, formerly of Uptown.

Beloved husband of 45 years to Joan Cerminaro; loving father of Richard (the late Sarah), Ronald (Deborah) and the late Roberta Lynn (Robert) Donnelly; cherished pappap of Lauren, Kevin, Reagan, Rebeckah and Riona Lynn; proud great-pappap of Rosalie and Antonette; also survived by nieces, nephews and their families. Sam served in the U.S. Army during WWII, South Pacific and was a longtime member of the American Legion, Post 712, Pleasant Hills and Italian Sons and Daughters. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sylvester Church at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Heart Association or American Cancer Society.

He was a great American and part of the Greatest Generation as well as a WW2 Vet. We thank him for his service to this country and being good father, friend and a gentle man. Sam, we will miss you.
