Obituary For Theresa D. (Magyar) Tompkins

Age 89, of Brentwood, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 14, 2023.

Beloved wife of the late Gene D. Tompkins; loving mother of David J. (Monica), Betty J. (Raymond) Martin and Karen R. (Victor) Palatucci; cherished grandmother of Timothy (Shea), Amy Palatucci, and Victor (Rachel) Palatucci, Jr.; proud great-grandmother of Nathan, Ryan, Drury and Charli Rose; daughter of the late Julius and Elizabeth Magyar; sister of the late John Magyar and Anna Marie Kish. Theresa retired after 24 years from Presbyterian Hospital as a housekeeping supervisor. She loved gardening, her home, bowling, lunch with her longtime friends and above all, spending time with family. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m.

    I am sorry to have read that your mother has passed away. I had the privilege to work with her as the director in the department that your mom worked. There are many adjectives that I can think of that described her: diligent, loyal, thoughtful, smart and creative. But mostly, I remember her concern for both patients and fellow workers.
